fun moment never last long =(

oops! i haven't updated the blog for some time already. anywayz, i have been reading peoples' blogs quite a bit these days. looks like everyone is busy with their lives and stuff, including me. yeah, for now, i'm having my holidays which will come to an end in 4 days time. how did i spend it?

well, with fun, fun and more fun!! haha...yup, that's what i've been trying to do. though initially i thought that i would get down to do some revision, but when i got into the relaxing mode, it just seem impossible to start. =) hopefully, i won't regret it. this holiday, my friends went back to where they used to belong. leaving me here all by myself... sigh!

haha...but no worries! i'm enjoying myself even without them. hehe... i went to sydney for a couple of days with my sis, slacked everyday. surf the internet, watched loads of movies and drama serials, swam almost everyday, shopped, played golf, etc etc. yup my days are filled with activities.

unfortunately, i have to say, these fun moments never last for long. and, i never figured out why. sigh!... but its ok, as long as i'm satisfied with every day of my life. =) and i hope everyone else is too...

the pictures are up finally! haha...go have a look if you're curious. i had to spend some time reducing the file size of each pic and most importantly, select them. they are mostly taken during my b'day and the hols. plus you get to see the people i usually hang out with. oh, turn up the volume of your speakers too! i changed the bkground music as well! enjoy! =)

if you want to know...the pple in my clique are sherlyn, rachel, kelvin, emmanuel and zhaokai. 3 girls 3 guys...=)
we went to a couple of places during the hols. like, port melb, sth melb beach and st kilda beach which are next to each other. we played golf at albert park, played tennis, cooked a number of our meals, went shopping at bridge road(richmond), chadstone and smith street. we went for a run at the botanical gardens too and explored the shrine of remembrance that was built to commemorate the soldiers who died during the wars and the gardens near my place too. yup, out holiday was fully packed with activities. but i somehow feel guilty for not doing any work. hehe..=P

actually, i used to hang out with sherlyn and rachel initially. then, after the camp and some classes, the 3 guys invaded our privacy...then poof!...our grp of 6 was formed. haha =D... that's the story behind this clique. want to know more? ok. rachel, me and emmanuel are s'poreans and are 17 this yr while the rest are m'sians and are 18 this yr. cool yeah? haha =) we meet for lunch everyday, go for support lects together, occasionally have dinners together, go for lects together if possible and most importantly, we are working towards goals which are quite similar. its scary to say that 3 of us want to get into medicine and the rest of us are aiming for an average of above 90%. haha...=)...

oh celine, after you have seen the pics, tell me if there's any shuai ge ok? haha...the three guys claim they are...so yah...what's your opinion? haha...=) ok got to do my work now...hope that i can update my blog soon! =)

hey guys! wow man...its been more than a month since i last updated my blog!!! haha =)...well, sorry for keeping all of you waiting but not to worry, i have been reading all your blogs and roughly know what you pple have been going through.

yup, i've been busy too. with schl, working hard and of course playing hard as well. yes, i have been occupied with numerous parties and outings during my 2 weeks easter break in april. my friends and i explored new places, eat, watch lots of movies(rented) and played games; tennis, who's the richest...basically, we spent lots of money. haha... B4 that, we had a week of exams. My results were not very good actually though i scored way high for literature. do you guys remember i used to fail lit terribly last few yrs? guess what? i scored 4.75/5 for my poetry here!!! i was super shocked actually. It was unexpected.

anyway, its term 2 for me here. like you guys, i have essays to write and lots of tutorials to catch up with. but of course, there's some play for my in between. just this thursday, it was my friend's birthday and we prepared a video for days b4 that as a surprise gift. he's parents invited us for dinner that night and again tonight. and tomorrow, another friend's parents are inviting us for dinner as well. haha...yup, so all my dinners have been settled for me. =)

It is the end of the orientation already. you guys must have been wondering why my orientation is taking so long while all of you are busy preparing for tests and rushing to do your tutorials. Haha..=) no worries, my turn for mugging will come.

Speaking about the camp which I just had. Well, it was good, enjoyable, in fact its one of the best camps I ever been to, besides the OBS one. I had good accommodation and good food for all three days. We had 6 meals a day. Can you believe it? There’s breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and supper. And you know what, for dinner, we have 3 courses, the appetizer, main course and dessert. So most of the time we were eating. =)

But besides eating, we had outdoor activities as well. However, every group had a different itinerary and each group had something less compared to another group. Like for my group, we did not have the rope course. =( but guess what? I managed to do the rope course activities during my free time. ;) Haha…=) though I was shaking like mad while walking on just a rope in the air. Well, the experience of everything was worth it. =) I did abseiling on a real rock wall too. The view we got from the top was just fantastic. And with the birds flying in a formation in the air, it was a panoramic view!!! =)

Another thing. Have you ever wondered why you can talk so much to friends you have just made? And do you know card games can actually bring so much fun and laughter? Well, I found the answers to them during the camp. We had lots of free time during the camp by the way where we had a choice of activities. For one of the evenings, I chose to play cards and I taught a table of new friends the name game we used to play in schl. but of course, we used our real names as a way of introducing ourselves. We all came from different countries and at times we had problems communicating. =) Haha…so it was quite a funny experience. =)

Now, I figure why my school fees are very expensive. The camp is one of the reasons. Check out the new pics i added! =)

i'm just so bored...why must there be a 3 hr break between lectures?? i wanted to go home but the journey to and fro is already an hour. isn't it a waste of time spending an hr for travelling?? just like yesterday, i'm spending the break in the library. its called the leeper library and i think its the nicest library in the whole university compound. its also well equiped with imac computers which we can use for as long as we want to. =) it has a pleasant atmosphere as well...and the pple who come in here are really considerate. they keep really quiet just that off and on..you'll hear pple 'banging' their fingers on the keyboard. and that's exactly what i'm doing now... =P i'm surely coming here to study when school starts proper.

getting bored...

you know what? i think the orientation is taking a bit too long...haha=) i thought, maybe more time of play would be good but i think i'm getting a little bored. so i decided to do some studying while the orientation continues. =P you can say i'm kiasu but if you're in my position especially with my sister who is constantly studying most of the time now...you can't help it but to study as well.

as maths is my favourite subject. i started revising my maths yesterday and to my horror...i actually forgot a whole lot of stuff. and my brain does not work as fast as it was last yr. well, i guess my brain just needs some warm up and some stimulation in order to work efficiently again. =)

anyway, these two days have been moving very slowly and there isn't much to say. yesterday was subject selection and today i just had a literature lecture. the literature lecture was fun. the lecturer had his own way of introducing this subject to draw us into it...that we suddenly had an interest in literature when we initially did not. =) he's really funny and he can speak CHINESE!! by the way, he's australian and he speaks very good chinese. his pronounciation's not bad too. =) unfortunately, this month we are starting with poetry which i'm really bad at analysing. anyway, i'll just have to see how it goes...

i'll be leaving for camp soon too. and did i ever mention that i'll be going to the furthest camp? it seems that the camp i'm going to is the largest and the most fun. but today i realise that there seem to be a lot more guys going for this camp compared to the number of girls.... so wish me luck. =)

introductory lectures =)

hmm..yesterday was a day of introductory lectures where we find out what the different subjects are like and hopefully they will help us to choose the subjects we wanna take. all of us have to take at least 3 electives + english and history of ideas which are both compulsory. as for me, i've decided to take chem and 2 maths, maths 1A and maths 2. i'm taking subjects which will allow me to get into the course i want and hopefully allow me to score in. the courses which i can do with these subjects are physiotherapy, optometry, science, medicine, biomed sci and dental science. quite a number of options yeah? but it actually depends on my total percentage which will detemine the course i'm eligible for. so yeah, its not as easy as it sounds.

anyway, i'm ready to prepare myself for a battle with my brain cells which are currently not active at all. they are crippled it seems. haha =)... at the mean time, i'm making friends, more friends and more friends. haha=)... its very fun to make friends. i kind of got the momentum already. haha =). just yesterday, i made my first indonesian friend, jennifer, and somemore malaysian friends. i'm kind of a link between pple and i mix them around as well so they make more friends too. =) cool yeah? i'm the middle man. =)

this coming monday will be the subject selection day and i think i'll meet more pple there too. =) there's just to many trinity pple around that i always see new faces everywhere everytime. sigh! looks like i won't be able to recognise a trinity student among the uni students. i used to be able to differentiate an ij girl with other schl pple but here...its a definite can't. cos, some of the trinity students look so mature and grown up that you know...yah you know what i'm trying to say..haha=)

first day of schl =)

the first day of schl is finally over. well, it was a good start but it was really tiring. still, i felt a sense of achievement after the end of it. i made quite a number of friends who are from singapore and malaysia. the singaporeans were quite hard to mix with in fact, cos they tend to stay in their own groups and that's why most of my friends are mostly malaysians now.

at one point, i had like trouble talking to two guys. they were really quiet and i had to start the conversations most of the time. they were nice though. easy to talk to but they were just too quiet. in this kind of scenario, i think celine will be of great help. =) bad enough, i was stuck with them during the tour around the schl. but i was able to talk to the other girls in the group. if not i'll be bored to death...=)

being lucky on the first day of schl, i made friends during lunch with some malaysian girls and you know what...we kind of formed a clig. so for the rest of the day though we were not together, we planed how we were going to meet for the introductory lectures during the breaks. although they are not that noisy as you guys in s'pore, i think we are talkative enough. we can talk about anything although i'm from s'pore and they are from malaysia. and quite surprisingly, they are more updated with the latest movies and stuff!! =) haha...so yeah, we got along pretty well. =)

though i'm making good progress here, lets just sit back and watch what happens next...=)

good news everyone!!! i made a new friend today! her name's li-ern. i think its spelt this way. she's from malaysia and just arrived today. well, i think she'll have lots to settle and will be really busy with shopping. getting all the stuff need for her studio apartment at the college square. just like me, she does not know anyone else who will be attending the course. so yeah...its a good start for me...=)

the weather today is hot but with the wind it was just nice. i made a big improvement today actually. i took the tram to the uni all by myself and did not get off at the wrong stop. =) i paid the last bit of the schl fees and applied for my students ID cum atm card as well. so far i have not met any singaporean students going to trinity yet but i heard there's lots of them this yr. hopefully, they will be friendly.=)

tomorrow's going to be a long day. so wish me luck for my first day in schl!!! =P

Happy Valentines Day! =)
well, i guess everyone's gonna be out with their valentines and won't have the time to see this. anyway, whoever happens to come by and see this, you have my well wishes and love from me. =)

sigh!..the time today really passed so fast. i spent the whole morning reading essays and in the afternoon, i went to buy some groceries (chocolates too) and visited regina who lives above me. how coincident right? =) yup, we watched 'the 40 yr old virgin' together and talked quite abit about what we have been up to. to those who plan to watch that movie mentioned, make sure your parents are not around. haha=)...its too...how shld i say it?? erm...you can say it contains many terms which we hardly mention in public. especially when we're from a more conservative country. but if you still want to watch it in the presence of your parents, go ahead. no one's stopping you. =) its funny though, so you may want to watch it. =)

later in the evening, i had another round of movie with my sis and her boyfriend. yup, you can say i was a light bulb but my sister insisted that they already celebrated valentine's day in advance. so yeah...=) we watched this movie 'guess who' starring ashton kutcher which i rented from the video easy store and at the same time ate pizzas. hehe=)... jordan, my sister's boyfriend says that i'm really good at choosing movies for different occasions. yup, the movie is really appropriate for v'day. =) so peeps, watch 'guess who' on valentines day with your valentines next yr yeah? =)

hmm...time seems to be passing very quickly. i'll be starting schl in just two days time. i have mixed feelings about it now...i feel excited yet scared!! =) haha...i'm excited cos i know i'll have fun but thinking about meeting new people from all over asia and other places makes me nervous. i haven't been making new friends for a long time. so what do i say when i meet them? or what should i do if they come up to me? hmm...that's troubling me now...sigh! =) anyway, i think i'll take everything easy and just go with the flow when it happens...looks like i have found a solution all on my own. so does that show that i'm independent? maybe, i guess. haha=)...

anyway, if you want to know what i'll be doing when schl starts here...well, i'll be having orientation from 16feb to 3march. long huh? yup, that's a very long beginning and schl will only start proper after that. pretty cool yeah? there will also be an orientation camp where they take us out to the suburbs for 3 days. so i get to play till march =)... but, my first day seems to be kindof long and mundane. sigh! its starts at 8 for registration and ends at 6 with an introductory lecture. in between, i have a english diagnostic test, lunch where i can meet the staffs and past trinity students, a tour around the schl and we'll be given information about the course at trinity college. sounds boring yeah? hopefully, i'll make some friends to crack some jokes. =)hehe...

oh guess what. i went for thai food for dinner today. i can say the food was really good but but it was spicy to the core. haha..=) but the white iced tea which is the equivalent to teh peng in s'pore helped me very much throughout dinner. so i was fine with the spicy food. =) and this afternoon, i started on a new series of korean drama. its called "my beloved" and whoever is a fan of rain will definitely watch it. celine, who says i still can't introduce any more korean dramas when i'm here? its not that laidback here with my housemate, susan, around. haha=)...

today's the 15th day of the chinese new yr where families get together for another reunion. well, i had chinese food for dinner at a chi restaurant called ants bistro. i know the name of it is weird but don't ask me why ants cos i did not ask the boss and i don't know myself. =) surprisingly, the food was good. better than any other chi restaurant i ever been in melbourne!!! =) i'll definitely go back to that place for a meal again. its also not that expensive compared to the mexican food i had last night too. tonight's dinner is a gathering with my sister's biomed mates actually so i was the odd one out. but no worries=), we had a common topic to talk about and that is once again.."korean dramas". =) haha...korean dramas are really popular man!!

at the moment, i've been watching a show called first love of a prince. its pretty good. just that the actors and actresses are not the very popular ones. i finished the outline of it today actually. i've been skipping many discs cos i don't have much time to watch that much so yah i took the short cut. haha..=)

oh yes, something really funny happened yesterday when my sis and i went to church. as some of you know, we just arrived in melbourne so we didn't know what's going on in church. still, we went for the 6pm mass at st patrick's church without knowing that its a croatian mass. so the church was filled with croatians and the mass was partly in english and croatian. i had a weird feeling when i entered the church initially as if all eyes were on us. then we realise we were the only two asians among the congregation of croatian. haha =)... the croatians were really friendly. =) but when it came to holy communion..oh man!!! the croatian priest probably had a shock of his life the moment i went up to him!!!...=) his eyes grew big as he said "the body of christ". haha =)...it was funny...haha...=P

yes, that's something funny which happened to me recently. it was a good experience though. after a week in melbourne, i kindof got used to the environment already. but the thing which i'm still trying to adapt is the way pple speak here. cos in melbourne, there are many students from many countries and everyone speaks with a different accent and style so sometimes i'm a little slow to react or do not know how to respond. so yah, i think i'll need somemore time...

GOOD VS BAD

well...the o'level results are finally out and many out there are in depression while others are in a state of relief. my advice: just don't think about it. its just not worth being upset over just one exam. there will be more to come!!! so there's stilll a chance to show off your knowledge. =) as for me, i'm satisfied with my results although i did not do as well as my siblings. my parents are happy for me as well. they did not expect too much from me which i'm grateful of. =) i can say an exam does not determine ones ability and strength and i decided to just move on... i hope the rest will do the same... =)

its been wonderful living in melbourne so far. i don't know what will happen when schl starts actually but i'm quite excited. this is the first time in my live i ever felt this way about the first day of schl. haha=) the food here is good but the servings are huge!! hopefully i won't grow fatter!!! anyway, more about the food here... i've been eating mostly asian food cos i think i can get westen food more easily. i had jap, vietnamese, indian, chinese etc etc... seriously, i think i've been eating like a pig. each time i have a meal, i'll eat till i feel like puking. haha=)..i've been trying to finish what i'm being served but unfortunately, i have not succeeded yet. my stomach just too small. =) there's still more food to come...

this morning, i played tennis with my sis to burn off what i've eaten for the past few days. i agree that i'm really suck at playing tennis man. i still prefer badminton. compared to tennis, badminton is my forte!! but it was a good workout.

don't forget our deal yeah? its my treat to dinner when i get back this december. =) i miss all your laughters already! please record them down and send it over quick!!! =) thanks to celine for setting this blog up for me too! =)

if you were wondering what i have been doing for the past four days in melbourne... well i've been living in a perfect world which i wish you all could join me in.

i bet you have news that melbourne has been really hot but do you know just within this few days, i've experienced a taste of all 4 seasons in this short time here. For example, just today, it started off with autumn (but no leaves were falling from the trees) then came winter in the afternoon when it was raining cats and dogs!!! =) a nice experience though. then towards the late afternoon it was close to summer when the sun came out. so you see, the weather here is very 'temperamental' =).

still, with the weather 'disturbing' my plans, there was no problem completing the chores. since the house was empty when my sis and I came, we had to stock up the fridge and food cabinets so that we will not be undernourished for the rest of our days here. plus, i had to get a bank account set up to stock up money and off course get myself familarise with the tram system and the different streets in the city, get the remaining of my schl fees paid and of course get myself a desk and chair in the room.

oh yes, if you were wondering, i'm actually living in an apartment just outside the city with my sis and a house mate, susan. susan's indonesian and she shares the same interest as me, korean dramas. haha =)... i'm really lucky to have her manz! =p she jusy came back from indonesia too and brought back lots of korean drama serials so i'll definitely won't be bored to death even if the shops here close at 5 or 6. haha =)... the apartments here have a swimming pool, tennis court, a bbq area and a gym like the condos in s'pore so i'll surely be fully occupied with all the facilities.

so don't worry about me! i'll be just as fine as salt...haha=)...
